Lore & Memory

Lore is your personal context: who you are, what you're working on, how you like to communicate and what you've decided. Your sidekicks read it so they don't have to ask you the same things twice. It belongs to you, and you can take it with you.

What Lore is

Open Lore in the sidebar. You'll find your profile laid out as ten categories, each a short Markdown document. Whenever you talk to one of your sidekicks, the relevant parts are added to its context automatically. That's why you don't need to put facts about yourself in a sidekick's soul.

The Your Lore page with a profile card, a Lore Depth score of 39 out of 42, the category list on the left and the Identity category open in an editor
Your Lore. The categories are on the left and the selected one opens on the right. (The profile shown is an example.)

The ten categories

CategoryWhat goes in it
IdentityName, role, organisation, philosophy, personal context
Roles & ResponsibilitiesDay-to-day work, outputs, decisions, who you serve
Current ProjectsActive workstreams, status, priority, KPIs
Team & RelationshipsKey people, their roles, what each relationship needs
Tools & SystemsYour stack, architecture patterns, constraints
Communication StyleTone, formatting and editing preferences
Goals & PrioritiesTargets for the week, quarter, year and career
Preferences & ConstraintsAlways/never rules and hard limits
Domain KnowledgeYour areas of expertise, frameworks, and what not to explain to you
Decision LogPast decisions and the reasoning behind them

Lore Depth scores how complete your Lore is (out of 42). Each category is graded, for example STRONG, so you can see where a few more lines would help most.

Filling in your Lore

You don't have to write it all yourself. There are four ways in:

1

Edit a category

Select a category and press Edit. Bullet points work well.

2

Voice Interview

Press Voice Interview and have a short spoken conversation. A sidekick asks about the gaps in your Lore and writes up what you say.

3

Add Lore from files

Press Add Lore and upload a Chat Export (a ChatGPT or Claude ZIP), Audio (voice memos, recordings) or a Document / Text (PDF, TXT, MD, DOCX). You'll see the proposed updates first. "Review proposed updates. Uncheck any categories you'd like to skip."

4

Connect an account

Under Add Lore → Connect, link LinkedIn (professional profile and posts) or Facebook (life events and interests).

Extra profiles

For sidekicks that coach, mentor or advise, you can add optional personality profiles: a natal Astrology chart, a Human Design bodygraph, Myers-Briggs and the Big Five (OCEAN). You can enter Myers-Briggs and Big Five by hand, or press AI Analysis to have them estimated from your Lore.

How sidekicks learn about people

The built-in UserSense ability reflects on each finished conversation and updates what the sidekick knows about that person: their goals, working style and context. For you, this flows into your Lore. For the people who talk to your sidekicks, it builds a profile you can view from the UserSense card on a sidekick's Abilities tab (View Profiles).

Guests who chat without an account keep their history on their own device only. A sidekick builds a lasting memory of someone once they sign in. See guest chat.

Using your Lore in other AI tools

Your Lore can also give context to other AI assistants that support MCP, such as desktop chat apps and coding assistants, so they know you as well as your sidekicks do.

  1. Under MCP Access Keys on the Lore page, press + New Key. Copy the token straight away, because this is the only time you'll see it.
  2. In the other tool, add an MCP server using the address shown on the Lore page and send the token as a bearer token.
  3. Choose what's shared: each category has an Expose to MCP tools switch, so you can keep, for example, your Decision Log private.

Revoke a key to cut off that tool's access immediately.

Exporting your Lore

"Your Lore belongs to you." At the bottom of the Lore page you can download it at any time:

  • Markdown package: all ten files as .md, which open in Obsidian, Notion or any editor.
  • JSON export: structured and machine-readable, for importing elsewhere.
  • Self-host package: run your Lore on your own server, then switch on Self-host mode and enter its Server URL so your sidekicks read it from there.
